Ajai Cadambi, MD, PA

In addition to being a board-certified hip and knee surgeon who ranks among North Texas’s most accomplished, Dr. Cadambi is a “masters”-level amateur cyclist.

Currently, he is one of about a dozen orthopedic surgeons nationwide who are participating in a clinical trial of a new type of artificial hip that’s designed to last longer with a lower risk of side effects to recipients.

One study under evaluation will determine whether ceramic-on-metal hip devices are more durable than those of conventional metal-on-metal design. The trial is also expected to produce valuable data about the effects of different kinds of prosthetic materials on human health.

Dr. Cadambi attended college at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and served his internship and residency at the adjoining Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Cadambi completed a fellowship in orthopedic adult reconstruction at the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic and National Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Arlington, Va. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
